Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for beginning the current research into the study of memories of eyewitnesses and children's victims as witnesses in court contexts. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and received several international and national distinctions. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the world regarding policies and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding Member and International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
