Anika Noni Rose is an American singer-actress. The most famous role she has played is Tiana the first Disney African American princess. Disney Legends named her one of the 2011 Disney Legends. Rose is most well-known for her role as Lorrell, Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on June 6 on the 6th of September, 1971. She is a famous American singer and actress. She is best known for the role for Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the very first African American Disney Princess. She was recognized as an official Disney Legend in 2011. Her most well-known role is the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) and her portrayal of LaVerne, the Jukebox Ganner from the Starz television series Power. She's also known for performing in theatre, specifically in the role of Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004), for which the Tony Award Best Female Featured Actress in a Musical award was given to her and Beneatha Youther from the Broadway Revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured performance in a play was awarded to her.
