Alaina Suddeth's parents are Kristy Suddeth, who hails from Rossville in Georgia and J. J. Suddeth. Alaina's father, a Tennessee-based process technician who began singing at the age of three. As a member of a children's choir, and at an annual resort which featured karaoke performances, Alaina performed her first time on stage. The singer sang in any 30 mile radius, which included church services, at restaurants and other family events. Alaina competed with the Southern Stars Pageant at 8 and was crowned the winner. The following year, Alaina was selected to perform on the Riverbend Festival's Kids stage, the Talent Stage. She performed there until she reached the age of 12 old. She then won an event that allowed her to be a part in the mainstage at the Riverbend festival. She travelled across the country to Orlando, Florida, when she was ten to compete with the American Model and Talent Competition. She beat over 1,500 kids in winning the contest. Alaina sang as part of Georgia Country Gospel association's Kids' Group. Alaina first went to Nashville in her teens. The bar she frequented was Tootsie's bar and several other bars along Broadway. Alaina, who is born on the 29th of September 1989, took home the WinniSTAR talent contest for the youth who live at Lake Winnepesaukah. Alaina was motivated to sing because of her sister, Holly Witherow, who was diagnosed with an brain tumor. Alaina was a Pizza Hut employee before joining Idol.
